Programs

  • We welcome kindergarten groups regularly for playful activities and library use lessons.
  • We give library use lessons for primary school students according to the curriculum. Its essence is that the children will learn library skills: the order of the library, services, reading books and journals on the spot, use of manuals.
  • We provide creative activities for preschool and elementary school groups before the approaching holidays (Christmas, Easter ...).
  • Every year in October, we organize a tale contest called "Mesés hétpróba" (Fabulous seven chances) for lower class students. Four-person teams can apply for the contest who have to meet seven tests.
  • Also in the autumn we organize the Benedek Elek storytelling competition for kindergarten children and lower class children.
  • Since 1990 The Children's Library has been annually issued task sheets called "Könyvtári fejtörő" (Library riddle). This is a program that is not reserved to a specific subject, but as it is a game, children are interested, and at the same time, they need to visit the library to be able to resolve the tasks. Thus, those appear in the children's library who would otherwise rarely or not at all come here. Among the riddles there are questions on native language, geography, science, local knowledge, the use and life of the library as well. The annual number of participants in library riddles has always reached 100 to 150. Our task sheets can also be downloaded from the Internet.
  • Every year we organize the urban drawing competition. We organize an exhibition of a large number of drawings received from the three schools and kindergartens as a close.
